Redlands is promoting Small Business Saturday, which this year is Nov. 24.
The idea is to get people out shopping on one of the biggest weekends of year ? the weekend after Thanksgiving ? to spend at least some of their money in local small businesses.
Saturday is the targeted day, right after Black Friday and just ahead of Cyber Monday.
The city has created a video to explain the concept. It?s introduced by Mayor Pete Aguilar and showcases some of the city?s small shops that are particiapting in the promotion.
The video is posted on the city?s website, which also offers a list of participating businesses with their websites, locations and business hours.
After all the talk during the campaign season about the need to bolster the city?s sales tax revenue, here?s an opportunity to actually do something about it.
