We all live busy and sometimes chaotic lives with day to day routines that often drive us crazy, playing havoc with our life.
At times the pressures upon us take their toll on both our minds and bodies, leaving us exhausted, depressed and lacking in energy. During these periods its hard for us to even get through our days.
We are handicapped by our minds not thinking clearly, our bodies feeling tight and weak, and our souls well they just feel empty.
Today I want to give you a few ideas on how to give your mind, body and spirit a lift.
1
Get that Body MOVING
Hey you know it already. One of the best ways to give your Mind, Body and Spirit a boost is to exercise regularly. So whether you?re walking or running, going to the gym or getting outdoors, connect your earphones to your smartphone or mp3 player pump up the volume on high energy music and move that body. Go get yourself that cardiovascular benefit.
2
BREAKFAST like a king
There is a very good reason they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A healthy breakfast will give you the boost you need each morning to last you through the whole day. Hey, if you don?t put gas in your car, it won?t run. Porridge is my first choice as it?s full of fiber and low on the glycaemic index which means that the sugar is released into my bloodstream slowly, keeping your energy levels constant.
3
Take 24 HOURS OFF a week
Every weekend, for 24 hours step away from your work. Have nothing to do with your emails, phone messages, don?t touch your lap top, and keep all your work stuff away from you. No speaking with work colleagues, in fact you are taking a complete sabbatical from your business.
4
Rejuvenating POWER NAPS
A well-timed nap can do wonders for your energy levels and productivity. A good time to get some shut-eye is after lunch when most of us experience a bit of a downturn in the energy stakes. Take off your shoes and put your calls on hold. Ten minutes is all you need.
5
EMPTY YOUR MIND before sleep
Many people suffer from insomnia or other sleep disorders in part because they can?t mentally let their to-do lists go. You?ve got to be able to shift your attention away from all those tasks facing you tomorrow. The simplest thing to do is just to take 5 minutes and scribble them all out into a notebook, or type them out, or whatever works for you. Just get them out of your head, tell yourself you?ll deal with them tomorrow, and give yourself permission to relax.
6
Get your BREATHING to support you
Just breathe Typically, when you?re distraught, your breathing quickens and becomes shallow. These changes in breathing are bound to add to your stress and make you more uncomfortable than you already are. You can counter such distress with this quick breathing technique: Place one hand on your abdomen and the other on your chest. Breathe in slowly, concentrating on inflating your abdomen first and then your chest. Exhale slowly, quietly saying the word ?relax? as the air goes out. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for at least ten breaths.
7
DISTRACT yourself for a while
When you?re upset, usually the only thing on your mind is your misery. And focusing on that only makes things worse. For quick relief find something to distract you. Try and pick up a great book and start reading, or how about play a game with your family, they?ll love it, and so will you.:

Show GENEROSITY AND THOUGHTFULNESS to others
What a great tool to avoid getting sucked into a seemingly inescapable vortex of bad energy. Just doing something nice for another person. Presenting an unexpected act of thoughtfulness and/or generosity on another doesn?t require a thick wallet, just an act of thought and kindness. And guess what, it helps us feel connected, useful, appreciated.

Always carry a pocket book of your FAVOURITE QUOTES
I love quotes. They can inspire and motivate. A great quote will get me thinking about its meaning. It will spark my mind to the next level. I have a small hardback book with all my favourite quotes that I carry everywhere. When I need a little lift I open it up. Very simple.
10
LOOK IN THE MIRROR and force your lips into a smile
Mirror mirror on the wall whose that miserable git looking back at me today. It?s you Larry. What to do? Well I?d pull some funny faces, I?d make myself look stupid. Easy for me I know. I?d do everything I could to just make myself laugh. ?Research shows that the physiology of smiling actually makes you feel happy. If you need a little extra help in the laughter department, watch a funny movie, read a comic, get a stand up comic?s video. Mind you don?t borrow any of Rachel?s recommendations because they?re simply not funny.
11
Break out of your ROUTINE today
Sometimes being stuck in a rut can really get you down. By just doing things different can have a major impact on how you feel. You can do a stupid thing like take a different route to work. Change the order of how you do things. Work from a different place today. Just doing things differently from time to time can really help you stay on top.
12
Practice RELAXATION techniques
If you are a regular reader of this blog you will know this is one of not only my favourite subjects, but in my beliefs one of the most important things you need to be doing. O whether it?s meditation, visualisation, progressive muscular relaxation or one of the other methods, you can always pick one to give you a fantastic lift.
So don?t leave yourself a second longer feeling like crap, give some of these a try.
